This was also incorporated into the design system documentation and was the genesis of our design system's content design component .
Made them as an easy-to-consume, fun set of cards as well.
Process design
Defined processes and workflows to help designers collaborate with various stakeholders efficiently, while ensuring increased visibility and documentation of their design work.
The inception of this activity was to tackle the influx of ad-hoc design requests, which flooded designers and often derailed any current ongoing design work, and made it hard to prioritize.
Core issues
Stakeholder's lack of visibility of what a designer already had on their plate
No current means to achieve this visibility on a common forum
The solution
Defining a workflow and onboarding the design team to Jira, bringing about a few benefits;
Each request has a created ticket with appropriate context and priority - so that it may serve as a single source of truth for a particular design requirement
Standardize ways of working, factoring in relevant stakeholder reviews - with product, engineering, and design system teams.
Establish visibility of a designer's bandwidth on a common forum already used by all cross-functional teams.
Encourage stakeholders to have more clarity before initiating discussions.
Design showcase
Playing my small part in evangelizing design as a function and craft within and across the various functional teams - by ensuring means to showcase one's work to a wider audience, and propagating a mindset that design is not just screens, but a lens to life.
Doing this by having a regular showcase of design driven projects, everyday design stories, and general trivia via on-floor TV screens to spark conversations, explore and learn about new topics, and just have fun!
